Effortless structure.
Thoughtful support.
Liberation through organization.
Me at a Glance:
Effortless Doer – I intuitively understand moving things from idea to reality.
Strategic Visionary - I see the big picture and craft systems that are values aligned and sustainable. I offer structure without rigidity.
Systems Alchemist – I turn chaos into clarity, creating seamless, culturally-responsive workflows. I read between the lines and know what a project might need before an issue emerges.
Culturally Attuned & Intentional – My work is relational, designed with the unique needs of leaders of color in mind.
Organized & Streamlined – Efficiency is my love language, but never at the cost of our humanity. I don’t just “keep things moving”—I create sustainable systems that free people up to lead and rest.
Mantras That Drive Me:
“Structure with maximum flexibility”
“Nothing happens in isolation”
“Still water runs deep”

I raised over a million dollars for a nonprofit, and then I quit…
From the outside, I appeared to be a successful fundraising professional. Over 3 years, I had grown a culturally-specific nonprofit’s budget by 900% and set them up for a successful capital campaign.
I should have felt proud, but the truth was that I was fed up. I found myself lying on my sister's living room floor in the 105° Albuquerque heat, with a semi-functional swamp cooler, staring at the ceiling and assessing my life choices.
The nonprofit grew rapidly during my time there. What did not keep up with the growth were the operations and systems.
I found myself wearing too many hats. I was the fundraiser, operations director, project manager, supervisor, HR coordinator, hiring manager, communications, custodian, interim-executive director (at times), and so much more.
I was overwhelmed and felt like I was playing whac-a-mole. I wasn’t eating enough, drinking too much coffee, and feeling guilty for working weekends and evenings. Eventually my health began to suffer.
I needed to spend my energy on strategy, not admin work. But I didn’t have the time or the focus.
While staring at the ceiling, I realized two things:
I’m skilled at listening to others’ visions and developing roadmaps to bring dreams to reality.
The absence of systems is not liberatory.
During that month I spent in Albuquerque, enjoying evenings in the park, Colombian dinners cooked by my now brother-in-law, and amusingly watching road runners dash back and forth, I realized I wanted to create systems that sustain the revolution and the people leading it. I would be the dream VA and project manager I wish I had had to make the organization’s growth sustainable.
Bio
Camerina Galván is the founder and CEO of Galvan Consulting. Solo entrepreneurs, CEOs, and executive directors of color hire her to help navigate the chaos of operations without sacrificing their values or well-being.
She’s been called un mil usos (a jack of all trades) for her diverse skill set. She learned this from her grandmother, who instilled in her the importance of skill-building as a form of survival, using Camerina’s mother as an example.
“Mira a tu mamá. Ella aprendió hacer todo. Sabe hacer pasteles, cocer, sembrar, contabilidad y aprendió inglés. No significa que lo tiene que hacer todo—es importante el saber hacer un poco de todo porque uno nunca sabe.”
Look at your mother. She learned how to do everything. She knows how to bake cakes, sew, farm, and do accounting, and learned English. It doesn't mean she has to do it all—it's essential to know how to do a bit of everything because you never know what life will bring.
As the daughter of Mexican immigrants and after 10 years of nonprofit experience and working with immigrants and refugees, Camerina learned to blend the warmth of a trusted confidante with the efficiency of a top-tier virtual assistant and project manager. Her gift is recognizing the emotional weight behind logistics and operations. She doesn’t just manage tasks; she transforms how justice-oriented leaders sustain their work.
